Om projektet

På en række unikke lokationer der favner et broget landskab præget af skønhed, historie og kultur, inviterer vi til samtaler om samtiden for at forestille os – og måske skabe – en fremtid med et anderledes forhold mellem mennesker og natur.

Vi befinder os i en kritisk og afgørende tid. Her, midt mellem landskabsidyl og naturdrømme på den ene side og byudvikling og forbrugsbehov på den anden side, er der mulighed for at skabe forandring.

De tre steder

I Liselund Have holdes Tingenes Råd — i et område, hvor Danmarks første biosfæreområde har beliggenhed, og hvor bevarelse af artsrig natur, rig kulturarv og lokal erhvervsudvikling er i fokus. Kunstnere og videnskabsfolk samarbejder i og omkring stedet med udgangspunkt i samtidens natursyn og den skrøbelige klimasituation.

På Klintholm Gods holdes Time Loop — det gamle gods har siden 1798 været i familien Scavenius' hænder. Syv generationer senere er det stadig et afgørende sted i Møns moderne udvikling. Kigger man mod Møns Klint bliver man bevidst om tidens gang; hvor ny godsets og menneskets beboelse af Møn egentlig er i forhold til den geologiske fortid.

I Hårbølle, Den Umulige Samtale, ved det nedlagte flintindustrianlæg — her kigger vi på Møns landskab med det tydelige skifte; engang industri, i dag primært sommerhusidyl. I hvilken retning skal man forny sig? Hvad ønsker det spirende lokalsamfund, hvor den unge generation forlader storbyens dominans?

De tre samtaleformer

Tingenes Råd undersøger, hvad der sker, hvis vi lader dyr, natur og fænomener tale for sig selv i stedet for altid at sætte mennesket i centrum. Time Loop anskuer aktuelle emner fra både fortidens og fremtidens perspektiv. Hvad ville vores forfædre og efterkommere mon råde os til? I Den Umulige Samtale sætter vi farten ned og forbinder personlige oplevelser og følelser, som kan blive til fælles fortællinger.

Med Talking Landscapes åbner vi et rum for jer, som vil være med til at ændre kursen for fremtiden.

Om Building Conversation

De tre samtaler er en del af Building Conversation, en international platform for dialogisk kunst, der koncentrerer sig om mødet mellem kunst, samtale og samfund. Building Conversation er udviklet af de hollandske kunstnere Lotte van den Berg og Daan't Sas og den belgiske kunstner Peter Aers.

Talking Landscapes er organiseret af Metropolis – Københavns Internationale Teater i samarbejde med partnere i de medvirkende kommuner med støtte fra Nordea-fonden.

About the project

At a series of unique locations embracing a varied landscape shaped by beauty, history, and culture, we invite conversations about the present in order to imagine — and perhaps create — a future with a different relationship between people and nature.

We find ourselves at a critical and decisive moment. Here, caught between landscape idyll and nature-dreams on one side and urban development and consumer needs on the other, there is an opportunity to make change.

The three locations

At Liselund Park, The Council of Things takes place — in an area home to Denmark's first biosphere reserve, where preservation of species-rich nature, rich cultural heritage, and local economic development are all in focus. Artists and scientists collaborate in and around the site, departing from contemporary views of nature and the fragile ecological and climatic situation we face.

At Klintholm Manor, Time Loop takes place — the old estate has been in the Scavenius family since 1798. Seven generations later, it remains a decisive place in Møn's modern development. Looking toward Møns Klint, one becomes aware of the passage of time — how recent the estate's and humanity's inhabitation of Møn truly is relative to the geological past.

In Hårbølle, The Impossible Conversation, at the decommissioned flint industry site — here we look at Møn's landscape and its marked transition: once industrial, today primarily a summer-house idyll. In which direction should one renew? What does the emerging local community want, as the younger generation turns away from urban dominance?

The three conversation forms

The Council of Things investigates what happens when we allow animals, nature, and phenomena to speak for themselves instead of always placing the human at the centre. Time Loop examines current issues from both past and future perspectives — what would our ancestors and descendants advise us? In The Impossible Conversation, we slow down and connect personal experiences and feelings that can become shared narratives.

With Talking Landscapes, we open a space for those who want to help change the course of the future.

About Building Conversation

The three conversations are part of Building Conversation, an international platform for dialogic art focused on the meeting of art, conversation, and society. Building Conversation was developed by Dutch artists Lotte van den Berg and Daan't Sas, and Belgian artist Peter Aers.

Talking Landscapes is organised by Metropolis – Copenhagen International Theatre in collaboration with partners across participating municipalities, with support from the Nordea Foundation.
